New Youth Programming

Cleveland Mediation Center (CMC) is preparing to pilot a Youth and Family Reunification Program, which is focused on working with 18-24 year old youth that are currently homeless or are at risk of homelessness. The Reunification Program will help youth in need to rebuild supportive relationships and foster new ones by emphasizing family mediation techniques. CMC will use a client-centered approach, work to empower the youth we are engaged with, and nurture their natural talents and aspirations.

CMC’s Reunification Program staff will work with under-served youth populations including young adults who have aged out of foster care, members of the LGBTQ community, and young families. For young adults who are estranged from their family, this program will allow them to utilize family search and engagement strategies which could reconnect them to their families. Youth individual needs will guide the services, as well as their individual plan’s focus, but above all, youth will be held accountable with an emphasis on self-sufficiency. The success of this program can be measured by the success of youth within their family structures; productivity in their communities; and the amount of youth who are able to successfully realize their version of permanency.

Stay tuned for more updates about this pilot program!
